Sharon D. West

First Lady

EVANGELIST SHARON D. WEST is also a native of Kansas City, Missouri, where she attended the public schools of Kansas City and Penn Valley Community College. She received her Evangelist Missionary license in the Churches of God in Christ in April 1982 while a member of Spates Temple Church of God in Christ, Elgin, Illinois, upon the recommendation of her mentor and guide, the late District Missionary Ruth Campbell.

While working under that ministry she worked in the following areas, among others: volunteer on the Community Crisis Center Advisory Board of Elgin; president of the Young Women Christian Council (YWCC) presenting many workshops; instructor in the State Sunday School workshops of First Jurisdiction of Illinois, under the leadership of the late Bishop Louis Henry Ford, Presiding Bishop; participant as an instructor for Marriage Seminars and Self-Awareness workshops with the Louise Forshe Ministries of Elgin; Adult Class Sunday School teacher at Spates Temple (an area where she continues to work in at West Side Church).

Her personal vision is to help as many as possible to understand how to live victorious lives in Christ Jesus by instructing people according to the Scriptures on how to confront every challenge that life and the devil sends their way through her “Women’s Mentoring Sessions” teaching classes. Also, this vision consists of helping young women to know their rightful places in God, their homes, and their churches. In 2011, this part of her vision birthed the “Bravehearts Women’s Community Support Group”, a ministry directed toward at-risk single mothers in the community.

Lady West received her associates degree from Rock Valley College with honors in 2012 and in 2015 received her bachelor's degree in Human Services Management with honors from Cardinal Stritch University of Milwaukee, WI.

Lady West’s favorite Scripture is Jude 24 & 25 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
